Cereals as material
The industrial process of cereal processing generates a huge amount of waste.
The growing movements towards recycling and reuse of materials and materials, as well as management in the form of a circular economy have led to the emergence of new processes that allow this waste to be reused.
In the case of the footwear industry, new fabrics and soles have been emerging based on these thoughts.
It is the case of Bio-Eco Microfibre, a 100% recycled and recyclable material, which composition contains 20% cereals. The manufacturing process takes environmental issues into consideration, as well as circular economy principles. It is also 30% biodegradable and does not contain any toxic substance restricted by the most common EU regulations.
At Lazuli we use this new material in many of our models, especially in the linings. This is the case for sneakers. myTENNIS SILK, from the boots myTANKER CHELSEA or sandals myFOOTBED.
Many soles made with cereals have also appeared. Instead of the usual 100% rubber soles, cereal waste is incorporated into the rubber, thus obtaining a mixture that does not require so much rubber consumption and, at the same time, absorbs this waste, giving it a new life cycle.
The sneakers myDADDY RECYCLED They have soles with 20% of cereal incorporated.
