TEA LEAVES
Tea production generates an abundance of this raw material and, due to the high levels of caffeine in tea, there aren't many alternatives for giving this waste a second life.
Seeing this panorama, the company SCAYS has developed a processing method to transform this waste into an alternative to leather of animal origin and, as tea is planted without pesticides and at high altitudes (no additional water is needed), this process has practically no impact on the environment.
In addition to being environmentally friendly, this new fabric has other qualities such as being antibacterial and resistant to water and heat.
