Natural rubber is extracted from trees, usually rubber trees, by collecting the latex. This process, although in a more primitive form, was already carried out in Central America some 3000 years ago.

In footwear, natural rubber is used to manufacture soles. This material has qualities such as excellent elasticity, high resilience, flexibility and wear resistance. 

Our espadrilles all have soles made with natural rubber and jute rope.
